BILKESHAWAR MAHADEV TEMPLE of Haridwar is known as Mahakal Bholenath Dham since time immemorial. It is said about Bilva Parvat that Mother Parvati wanted to have Lord Shiva as her husband. For which Dev Rishi Narad had given an advice to Parvati. According to the suggestion, Parvati had come to Haridwar on the picturesque Bilva mountain surrounded by Belpatra and performed severe penance to Shiva and pleased Bholenath and asked for a boon to become his wife again.
